How do you control it?¶
Find the MIDI ports, then start the bridge with this driver:
osc-bridge detect # prints the ready-to-run line for what is plugged in
osc-bridge run --device devices/m-vave/fm-1.vendor.fw-golana-1.2.json --out-port <N> --in-port <M>
Then send OSC to 127.0.0.1:7777, for example:
From Claude or any MCP client, the osc-bridge mcp server exposes this driver as fm1_golana: ask “what can the M-VAVE FM-1 do?” and it reads this map with list_routes. See the MCP guide.

Limitations¶
Golana 1.2 by Gadlele (GPL-3.0), a instrument firmware for the FM-1. Keeps Felucca's MIDI map except: Single GOLANA engine on all 4 tracks; power-on sets ROUT=SEL so every channel plays part 1 (golana_ui.c:1042); MIDI IN ALL/CH 1 setting (CH 1 = CH1-4 block); CC74 -> GOLANA CUT (E7, 0-127) (midi_control.c:227-229); CC71 -> GOLANA RESO (borrowed slot GL_RESO, 0-127) (midi_control.c:299-304); CC72/73/75 still the track amp env; CC5/7/10/91/93/94 as Felucca; Felucca mod matrix off for GOLANA (mod.c:160): CC1, CC11, aftertouch have no effect; Program Change 0-31 loads Golana program (n mod 32) (golana_ui.c:910-917); No TRACK routing mode (1.5.1 base). Channels: power-on: all channels -> part 1 (SEL); option CH 1 (ch1->part1, ch2-4 idle parts). Pitch bend: Felucca: RPN0 0-24 st, default 2. Aftertouch: no effect (mod matrix off for GOLANA). Clock: GLOBAL CLOCK INT/USB/TRS (Felucca clock code); no out. MIDI out: Felucca: panel keys as notes. NRPN: none. SysEx `F0 7D 46 4C`: Felucca 1.5.1 editor protocol (web/EDITOR_PROTOCOL.md); INFO 'FELUCCA v1.2'. SysEx `F0 00 32 45`: vendor update protocol, FM-1_900 (OTA_IDENTITY hook unused). SysEx `F0 43`: absent. Identity: vendor identify FM-1_900 (FM-1_9XY with --release); editor INFO 'FELUCCA v1.2'; USB names as Felucca.
Frequently asked questions¶
Which MIDI CC controls the filter cutoff on the M-VAVE FM-1?
CC 74 (0–127), named /fm1_golana/cutoff in SynthHub's map.
How many parameters of the M-VAVE FM-1 can be controlled over MIDI?
SynthHub's map of the M-VAVE FM-1 lists 16 MIDI CC parameters, each with its number, range and a readable name; the full chart is on this page.
Can an AI agent like Claude control the M-VAVE FM-1?
Yes: SynthHub's hosted MCP server knows the M-VAVE FM-1's MIDI map, and its browser relay lets the agent send it parameter changes or load a sound, each sound change confirmed by you.
