How do you control it?¶
Find the MIDI ports, then start the bridge with this driver:
osc-bridge detect # prints the ready-to-run line for what is plugged in
osc-bridge run --device devices/m-vave/fm-1.vendor.fw-cutador-1.2.1.json --out-port <N> --in-port <M>
Then send OSC to 127.0.0.1:7777, for example:
From Claude or any MCP client, the osc-bridge mcp server exposes this driver as fm1_cutador: ask “what can the M-VAVE FM-1 do?” and it reads this map with list_routes. See the MCP guide.

Limitations¶
Cut-A-Dor 1.2.1 by Kid Bunka (GPL-3.0), a drum-machine firmware for the FM-1. Editor INFO string uses EN_VERSION '1.0' (app.h:7) while docs say 1.2.1. Channels: One IN CH setting: ANY (default omni), 1.16, or CLOCK (ignore notes/CC); USB and TRS; only the selected SOURCE drives clock/transport. Pitch bend: ignored. Aftertouch: ignored. Clock: in USB or TRS (SOURCE setting): F8 tempo 40-220, FA start from top, FB continue, FC stop; follower stops after 2 s without clock; no SPP. Out USB only (USB OUT on, internal tempo): F8 24 ppqn even while stopped, FA/FB/FC; never forwards clock. MIDI out: USB: clock and transport only, no notes (docs/MIDI.txt); notes 36-51 in = pads or break slices. NRPN: none. SysEx `F0 7D 43 41 44`: editor protocol v1: 1 INFO ('CUT-A-DOR \<ver>'), 2 COMMAND, 10-13 bank upload, 20/21 project snapshot read. Frequently asked questions¶
How many parameters of the M-VAVE FM-1 can be controlled over MIDI?
SynthHub's map of the M-VAVE FM-1 lists 10 MIDI CC parameters, each with its number, range and a readable name; the full chart is on this page.
Can an AI agent like Claude control the M-VAVE FM-1?
Yes: SynthHub's hosted MCP server knows the M-VAVE FM-1's MIDI map, and its browser relay lets the agent send it parameter changes or load a sound, each sound change confirmed by you.
