How do you control it?¶
Find the MIDI ports, then start the bridge with this driver:
osc-bridge detect # prints the ready-to-run line for what is plugged in
osc-bridge run --device devices/m-vave/fm-1.vendor.fw-bunker-1.0.0.json --out-port <N> --in-port <M>
Then send OSC to 127.0.0.1:7777, for example:
From Claude or any MCP client, the osc-bridge mcp server exposes this driver as fm1_bunker: ask “what can the M-VAVE FM-1 do?” and it reads this map with list_routes. See the MCP guide.

Limitations¶
Bunker Evolved 1.0.0 by Kid Bunka (GPL-3.0), a generative firmware for the FM-1. Keeps Felucca's MIDI map except: Identity FM-1_7100002 (felucca.c:32), version string 'BE 1.0-RC2' (felucca.c:43) vs catalogue 1.0.0; Second core disabled (FELUCCA_CPU2 0); 16 extra scales and P_BMODE/P_BAMOUNT/P_BPERIOD params (not CC-mapped); Generator (bunker_gen.c) drives the sequencer; no MIDI-related change found. Channels: Felucca 1.6.1 routing unchanged: ROUT CH1-4 default (ch1-4 -> tracks 1-4), SEL, CH5-8/9-12/13-16, TRACK (per-track channel or OMNI). Pitch bend: Felucca: 14-bit, RPN0 0-24 st + cents, default 2. Aftertouch: Felucca: channel aftertouch = mod matrix source. Clock: Felucca: in INT/USB/TRS, F8/FA/FB/FC; no clock out. MIDI out: Felucca: panel keys as notes on the track's channel (USB). NRPN: none (CC98/99 only cancel RPN). SysEx `F0 7D 46 4C`: Felucca 1.6.1 editor protocol unchanged; INFO name 'FELUCCA BE 1.0-RC2'. SysEx `F0 00 32 45`: vendor update protocol (ota.c identical), answers FM-1_7100002. SysEx `F0 43`: no raw DX7 parser (as Felucca). Identity: vendor identify FM-1_7100002; editor INFO 'FELUCCA BE 1.0-RC2'; USB names as Felucca (usb.c identical).
Frequently asked questions¶
Which MIDI CC controls the filter cutoff on the M-VAVE FM-1?
CC 74 (0–127), named /fm1_bunker/brightness in SynthHub's map.
How many parameters of the M-VAVE FM-1 can be controlled over MIDI?
SynthHub's map of the M-VAVE FM-1 lists 16 MIDI CC parameters, each with its number, range and a readable name; the full chart is on this page.
Can an AI agent like Claude control the M-VAVE FM-1?
Yes: SynthHub's hosted MCP server knows the M-VAVE FM-1's MIDI map, and its browser relay lets the agent send it parameter changes or load a sound, each sound change confirmed by you.
