How do you control it?¶
Find the MIDI ports, then start the bridge with this driver:
osc-bridge detect # prints the ready-to-run line for what is plugged in
osc-bridge run --device devices/m-vave/fm-1.vendor.fw-fmini-1.8.0.json --out-port <N> --in-port <M>
Then send OSC to 127.0.0.1:7777, for example:
From Claude or any MCP client, the osc-bridge mcp server exposes this driver as fm1_fmini: ask “what can the M-VAVE FM-1 do?” and it reads this map with list_routes. See the MCP guide.

Limitations¶
FMini-1 1.8.0 by Ruppert (GPL-3.0), a instrument firmware for the FM-1. Felucca CC map and MIDI learn bypassed: every non-fixed CC goes to FMini's assignable table (midi_control.c:299-304, fmini_app.c:941-968); Routing: all channels -> track 1, filtered by GLO MIDI IN (USB/MIDI/ALL) and CHANNEL (ALL/1-16) (seq.c:1204-1227,1414); Bend range from GLO PITCH BEND (+-2, +-12, +2/-12, +2/-24); RPN0 ignored (midi_control.c:43-51); No CC10 pan / CC72 release defaults. Channels: one instrument, track 1; default omni, source ALL; CHANNEL 1-16 selectable. Pitch bend: 14-bit; range set in GLO PITCH BEND (+-2 default, +-12, +2/-12, +2/-24); RPN0 ignored. Aftertouch: Felucca mod source path; FMini use UNKNOWN. Clock: Felucca: in INT/USB/TRS; no out. MIDI out: Felucca: panel keys as notes. NRPN: none. SysEx `F0 7D 46 4C`: Felucca 1.6.1 editor + cmds 82 FMINI_GET, 83 FMINI_PUT, 84 FMINI_PRESET; INFO tags 47, 48; INFO 'FELUCCA v1.6.1'. SysEx `F0 00 32 45`: vendor update protocol, FM-1_900. SysEx `F0 43`: absent. Identity: vendor identify FM-1_900; editor INFO 'FELUCCA v1.6.1' (FMINI_VERSION 'v1.8.0' in ABOUT only); USB manufacturer 'Guilherme Ruppert', product 'FM-1 Midi' / 'FMini-1 Update'.
Frequently asked questions¶
Which MIDI CC controls the filter cutoff on the M-VAVE FM-1?
CC 74 (0–127), named /fm1_fmini/cutoff in SynthHub's map.
How many parameters of the M-VAVE FM-1 can be controlled over MIDI?
SynthHub's map of the M-VAVE FM-1 lists 53 MIDI CC parameters, each with its number, range and a readable name; the full chart is on this page.
Can an AI agent like Claude control the M-VAVE FM-1?
Yes: SynthHub's hosted MCP server knows the M-VAVE FM-1's MIDI map, and its browser relay lets the agent send it parameter changes or load a sound, each sound change confirmed by you.
