How do you control it?¶
Find the MIDI ports, then start the bridge with this driver:
osc-bridge detect # prints the ready-to-run line for what is plugged in
osc-bridge run --device devices/m-vave/fm-1.vendor.fw-drift-0.8.json --out-port <N> --in-port <M>
Then send OSC to 127.0.0.1:7777, for example:
From Claude or any MCP client, the osc-bridge mcp server exposes this driver as fm1: ask “what can the M-VAVE FM-1 do?” and it reads this map with list_routes. See the MCP guide.

Limitations¶
DRIFT 0.8 by FBNFRTG (GPL-3.0), a generative firmware for the FM-1. Keeps Felucca's MIDI map except: All 16 MIDI channels address track 1 (the sole part): midi_slot returns 0 (firmware/src/seq.c:1203-1205); ROUT setting has no effect; Track 1 is always ANALOG (drift_ui.c:88-90): CC74 = ANALOG CUT, CC71 = ANALOG RES (param list unchanged, waves +3 sample waves); SLICE engine not built (FELUCCA_SLICE 0); Program Change = n-th ANALOG preset, i.e. DRIFT's own patch list (ANALOG_PRESETS replaced); 'Scale only' option drops MIDI notes outside the scale (seq.c:626); Identity FM-1_983, version string 'DRIFT 0.8'. Channels: omni: every channel -> track 1 (seq.c:1203). Pitch bend: Felucca: RPN0 0-24 st, default 2. Aftertouch: Felucca: mod matrix source. Clock: Felucca: in INT/USB/TRS; drift_tick replaces seq_tick on the same clock; no clock out. MIDI out: Felucca: panel keys as notes. NRPN: none. SysEx `F0 7D 46 4C`: Felucca 1.6.1 editor protocol unchanged; INFO 'FELUCCA DRIFT 0.8'. SysEx `F0 00 32 45`: vendor update protocol, answers FM-1_983. SysEx `F0 43`: absent. Identity: vendor identify FM-1_983; editor INFO 'FELUCCA DRIFT 0.8'; USB names as Felucca.
