Use it

Find the MIDI ports, then start the bridge with this driver:

osc-bridge detect # prints the ready-to-run line for what is plugged in
osc-bridge run --device devices/arturia/minibrute.vendor.fw-unknown.json --out-port <N> --in-port <M>

Then send OSC to 127.0.0.1:7777, for example:

osc-bridge osc-send /minibrute/global/receive_channel 8

From Claude or any MCP client, the osc-bridge mcp server exposes this driver as minibrute: ask “what can the Arturia MiniBrute do?” and it reads this map with list_routes. See the MCP guide.

Limitations

Source: MiniBrute Connection manual 1.0.3 and the MiniBrute User's Manual. The MiniBrute is an analog monosynth whose front-panel knobs are not reachable over MIDI: it plays notes (velocity, aftertouch, pitch bend, mod wheel) on its receive channel (factory: 1) and the CCs above change its global settings until power-off. The manuals document no SysEx (the editor's protocol is not published), no Program Change and no Start/Stop handling beyond the clock. Untested on hardware.

Frequently asked questions

How many parameters of the Arturia MiniBrute can be controlled over MIDI?

SynthHub's map of the Arturia MiniBrute lists 10 MIDI CC parameters, each with its number, range and a readable name; the full chart is on this page.

Can an AI agent like Claude control the Arturia MiniBrute?

Yes: SynthHub's hosted MCP server knows the Arturia MiniBrute's MIDI map, and its browser relay lets the agent send it parameter changes or load a sound, each sound change confirmed by you.
