Use it
Find the MIDI ports, then start the bridge with this driver:
osc-bridge detect # prints the ready-to-run line for what is plugged in
osc-bridge run --device devices/ableton/move.vendor.fw-unknown.json --out-port <N> --in-port <M>
From Claude or any MCP client, the osc-bridge mcp server exposes this driver as move: ask “what can the Ableton Move do?” and it reads this map with list_routes. See the MCP guide.
MIDI controls
0 controls, each with its number, its range and the name to send
Performance MIDI
Notes, pitch bend and any CC are also available: /move/note/on <note> <velocity>, /move/cc/<number> <value>, /move/pitchbend <0-16383>, /move/program_change <n>.
Limitations
Source: Ableton Move Manual. Move handles basic MIDI only: notes in and out, and polyphonic aftertouch received. The manual states that channel aftertouch, MIDI CC and MIDI mapping are not supported; it documents no Program Change, no SysEx, no MIDI clock (Move syncs over Ableton Link) and no channel setting. MIDI goes only through the USB-A port, to and from class-compliant USB MIDI devices (low and full speed; hi-speed devices such as Push are not supported), and one direction at a time: in the Setup menu, MIDI In Only (the selected track plays the incoming notes) or MIDI Out Only (a chosen track sends its notes). Nothing goes through MIDI in Control Live Mode. Play it with /note/on, /note/off and /poly_aftertouch. Untested on hardware.
Firmwares
The Ableton Move runs 3 firmwares SynthHub maps, each with its own MIDI or another's it shares. All the devices with several: firmwares.

Frequently asked questions
Can an AI agent like Claude control the Ableton Move?
Yes: SynthHub's hosted MCP server knows the Ableton Move's MIDI map, and its browser relay lets the agent send it parameter changes or load a sound, each sound change confirmed by you.
